The Grand Parade - Kingston Oasis Communities for Aging Well

Oasis is an innovative, senior-led program that began right here in Kingston and has now expanded to 20 sites across Canada. We bring programs directly into seniors’ apartment buildings, removing barriers like transportation and cost. From communal meals to exercise groups to social gatherings, Oasis helps older adults stay connected, healthy, and independent.
Research confirms what we see every day: when seniors feel connected, they are happier, healthier, and more engaged. Many members tell us Oasis has helped them rediscover fun, purpose, and belonging.
On September 20, 2025, Oasis members, site coordinators, researchers, staff, and community supporters will come together to walk, raise awareness, and share lunch. Our goal is to raise $20,000—and every dollar will stay in the Kingston region to fund local Oasis programs that make a real difference in the lives of older adults.
Oasis deserves to be celebrated, and funds raised through this event will help ensure its positive impact continues for years to come.
