Length of copper wire clipped and bagged
Frontenac OPP are investigating a copper wire theft that occurred on Wednesday, January 15th, in South Frontenac Township.
Thieves targeted a telecommunication line on Firehall Road, scaling a telephone pole and cutting the wire.
The affected telecommunication company reported the system failure at 3:49 a.m., indicating when the theft likely took place.
The stolen wire spanned from one pole to the next and is valued at approximately $5,000.
As a result, several residents experienced phone service disruptions for part of the day.
Authorities are urging the public to provide any information that could assist in identifying those responsible for this crime.
