Families across Ontario can enjoy fishing for free this Family Day long weekend—no licence or Outdoors Card required.
While fishing without a licence, anglers must still follow conservation licence catch limits, size restrictions, and other regulations. Fishing sanctuaries remain off-limits.
Ice safety is also important. Before heading out, check conditions with local operators or experienced anglers. Always let someone know your plans and wear proper gear for warmth and safety.
Free Family Fishing events happen several times a year, giving residents a chance to experience the sport without needing a licence.
