Deadly Napanee Fire deemed suspicious

OPP, Fire Marshall called in

The Lennox and Addington OPP say a fatal fire at a rooming house in Napanee has been deemed suspicious. “At this time there have been no arrests or charges in relation to the fire or death,” the OPP shared in a media release.

They have also shared the identity of the deceased, 67-year-old Walter Lasher from Greater Napanee.

The L&A County OPP Crime Unit is continuing the investigation under the direction of the Criminal Investigation Branch, in conjunction with the Office of the Fire Marshall, the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
