Home invasion on Wolfe Island was targeted: OPP

OPP seek public's help

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have determined that a home invasion on Wolfe Island early Thursday morning was targeted and that there is no ongoing threat to public safety.

The incident took place around 4 a.m. at a residence on Country Road 96 in the village of Marysville. A husband and wife sustained non-life-threatening injuries from an attack by a masked man.

Following the invasion, multiple OPP units were dispatched, causing delays in ferry services to the island. The OPP continues to investigate the incident, and residents should anticipate an increased police presence in the area.

The OPP is urging the public to ensure their doors and windows are secure. Anyone with information about the invasion is asked to contact Leeds County OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, or submit tips online at ontariocrimestoppers.ca.
