Many local youth to benefit from this generous donation
Three Kingston businesses are helping grow the game of hockey by supporting the Hockey Diversity Alliance (HDA). INVISTA, CaraCo, and Mike Lee Desjardins Insurance have donated over $6,500 in facility credits to Kingston’s HDA Grassroots Hockey Program.
The program provides free equipment, ice time, and coaching at Cataraqui Community Centre for youth aged 6-12. It also offers employment and volunteer opportunities for young people aged 15-24.
HDA partners include BGC Southeast, Kingston & Area Minor Hockey Association, Kingston Frontenacs, and the City of Kingston.
“This support is key to ensuring the program’s sustainability,” said Colton Robb of the Kingston Frontenacs.
Beyond hockey, participants enjoy cultural experiences and mentorship.
“We are grateful to our naming rights partners for helping make hockey more inclusive,” said Amy Elgersma, the city’s recreation director.
Kingston residents in the Municipal Fee Assistance Program may qualify for financial support.
