Millions connected to essential services annually
February 11 is 211 Day across North America, recognizing the vital role of the 211 helpline in connecting people with essential services.
Launched in Kingston in 2010, 211 is funded by the United Way of KFL&A and the City of Kingston. The free and confidential service helps residents find government and community-based health and social services in over 150 languages through phone, text, chat, and web.
Between 2022 and 2023, 211 service partners answered 1.23 million requests for help. In 2024, they are working with municipalities to improve community crisis response.
To raise awareness, Kingston City Hall will be lit red on February 11.
