Kingston double murder suspect’s no-contact list grows to over 80 people

Further legal proceedings to continue in March

The man accused of fatally stabbing two people near Kingston’s Integrated Care Hub (ICH) in September 2024 appeared in court on Feb. 21, where more names were added to his no-contact list, now exceeding 80 individuals.

Andre Wareham, who remains in custody at Central East Correctional Centre, is charged with two counts of second-degree murder and one count of attempted murder. His lawyer was absent, and the hearing was adjourned until late March for further legal proceedings.

The stabbings on Sept. 12, 2024, killed Taylor Wilkinson, 38, and John Hood, 41, and seriously injured a third person. Wareham was arrested after an hours-long standoff with police.

The attack led to the closure of the ICH and an encampment beside it. Kingston Police later confirmed that Wareham was not a client of the ICH or a resident of the encampment, despite public speculation following a statement from Mayor Bryan Paterson.
