Kingston General Hospital Auxiliary launches popular campaign

The Teddy Bears are back for another year

The Kingston General Hospital (KGH) Auxiliary has kicked off the 2024 “Show Children You Care” Teddy Bear campaign.

This initiative aims to raise funds for essential patient care equipment for the pediatric program at Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC). Since its inception in 2004, the campaign has raised over $500,000 for specialized equipment benefiting young patients.

This year's campaign is dedicated to Marion Swan, a nursing graduate from the KGH Class of 1960 and a long-time supporter of the initiative. The Auxiliary is committed to purchasing a $55,000 point-of-care ultrasound machine, which allows for quick, on-site care for infants and children.

At the campaign's conclusion, 300 teddy bears will be delivered to young patients in eight departments at KHSC and Weeneebayko General Hospital. Sponsorships are available for $100, with options to donate by phone, mail, or online. Support from the community is vital for this heartfelt cause.
