Kingston Police arrest operator of front-end loader

Late night incident saw driver ignore police orders

On August 18, 2024, at around 10:00 p.m., Kingston Police responded to reports of an unauthorized person operating a front-end loader on an industrial property on McAdoo’s Lane. The operator, a 48-year-old Kingston resident, refused to stop when approached by officers and drove to a more isolated area.

Given the size and nature of the vehicle, officers called for additional support. The Kingston Police K9 Unit and Traffic Unit, equipped with a drone, arrived on the scene. The drone's thermal imaging located the loader, and after observing the operator leave the vehicle, officers moved in and arrested him.

The individual was charged with multiple offenses, including failing to stop for police, impaired operation, resisting arrest, and mischief over $5,000. They were taken to Kingston Police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
