UPDATED: Kingston Police need your help to identify suspicious van driver

Boy approached by driver

Kingston Police are asking for the public’s help after a suspicious incident near St. Martha Street and Rose Abbey Drive on Jan. 15.

A boy walking home from school was approached by a man driving a white van.

Police originally listed the make and model as a Dodge Caravan, they know believe it was a Chrysler Town and Country mini-van.

The driver asked the child personal questions, including his name, age, and if he would be home alone. The boy did not respond and the man quickly drove off when the boy’s older sibling arrived.

The van has black trim, dark tinted windows, chrome wheel coverings, and rust on the rear left wheel well. Security cameras in the area captured a photo of the vehicle.

The driver is described as a Caucasian male, 40-50 years old, with white or greying hair.

Police are asking anyone with security or dash camera footage from 1 to 3 p.m. that day to contact D/Cst. Jamie Graham at jgraham@kingstonpolice.ca.
