Pair involved in animal neglect case
A breach investigation led to the arrest of two Kingston residents after police in Smiths Falls responded to a home on February 10.
Officers were investigating a possible violation of court-ordered bail conditions related to allegations of animal neglect.
As a result, police arrested 62-year-old Thomas Harper of Kingston, charging him with two counts of failing to comply with his release order. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
Police also charged 57-year-old Rosemarie Knight of Kingston with one count of failing to comply with her release order. She was later released with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
Authorities remind the public that bail conditions must be followed. Breaches can lead to further charges and legal consequences.
