Refused breath test

A Kingston woman is facing charges after a traffic stop on Highway 401 near Shannonville Road.

On September 16, 2024, just before 4:00 p.m., officers from the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a traffic complaint in the eastbound lanes of the highway.

Police located the vehicle and pulled the driver over. The driver, Nora Avedian, 65, of Kingston, refused to provide a breath sample when officers requested it using an Approved Screening Device (ASD).

Avedian was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while impaired by alcohol, failing to comply with the demand for a breath sample, and two counts of driving while under suspension.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on October 8, 2024.
