This will be her third Paralympics

Kingston’s own Abi Tripp is set to make waves at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

Tripp, who learned to swim at age seven, has been a para-swimmer since she was 14.

Despite having cerebral palsy, which affects all four of her limbs, Tripp has become a world-class athlete.

Her Paralympic journey began in 2016 when she was just 15, breaking the Canadian record in the S8 200m individual medley twice.

She returned for the Tokyo 2020 Games and is now gearing up for her third consecutive Paralympics.

As a long-time member of the Kingston Y Penguins Swim Club, Tripp has honed her skills and will compete in the multiclass 100m breaststroke (SB8) in Paris. Heats being on Friday.

The Paralympics begin on Wednesday.
