Knife attack at Kingston bar leaves one injured

Suspect arrested on multiple charges

A 53-year-old local man faces multiple charges after a knife assault at a bar near Princess Street and Bayridge Drive on Saturday night.

Kingston Police responded to the incident at approximately 10:05 p.m. and found the victim with serious injuries to their hand and torso. The suspect remained on the scene after other patrons intervened to help the victim.

Police determined the incident began as a verbal argument between the suspect and another individual. When the victim tried to intervene, the suspect allegedly attacked them with a knife.

The victim was transported to the hospital and treated for serious injuries.

The suspect was arrested and charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, possession of weapons dangerous, and carrying a concealed weapon. They were taken to Kingston Police Headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
