Tax levy heading up
Loyalist Township residents are proposed to see a 5.9% increase in their 2025 tax levy as Council prepares to adopt the municipal budget.
The hike includes a 3.56% rise for Township services and a significant 2.34% boost due to a 21% increase in the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) contract rate.
The Committee of the Whole recommended the 2025 Draft Budget on November 21, 2024, after weeks of public consultations and Council deliberations. The total tax levy requirement is $23,331,113.
The final decision will be made on December 10, 2024, at 6:00 p.m., during the Council’s regular meeting at the Municipal Office. Residents are encouraged to attend or watch the livestream via the Township Council Portal.
