Nothing routine: Weapons and drug charges laid after Kingston traffic stop

Two face serious charges

Another gun is off the streets of Kingston. 

Police on patrol in the city made a significant arrest during a routine traffic stop at Third Avenue and Alfred Street. 

Officers noticed the end of a handgun protruding from a bag belonging to a passenger in the vehicle.

Following a search, police found a replica Glock 17 handgun, a prohibited knife, crystal methamphetamine, and psilocybin mushrooms. The driver, a 21-year-old Kingston resident, faces charges for possession with intent to traffic.

The 21-year-old passenger, also from Kingston, was charged with possession of dangerous weapons, a prohibited device, trafficking, and possession of a Schedule III substance. 

The Kingston Police continue to investigate and urge residents to report any suspicious activity.
