OPP looking for witnesses after officer was hit by a vehicle on Highway 401

A Lennox and Addington County OPP officer was injured after being hit by a passing vehicle while responding to a crash on Highway 401.

The incident happened on January 29, 2025, just before 7:00 a.m. in the westbound lanes near Newburgh Road. The officer was attending an earlier collision when they were struck. They were taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries and are now recovering.

OPP Collision Reconstructionists and the Technical Collision Investigation team were on-site. Police are now asking for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
