Police investigate major damage at former Kingston high school

Can you help nab these vandals?

Kingston Police are asking for help investigating major damage at the old Kingston Collegiate and Vocational Institute (KCVI) on Frontenac Street.

On November 23, 2024, at about 3:10 a.m., Kingston Fire and Rescue responded to a fire alarm at the site. They discovered the alarm was caused by flooding throughout the building. Pipes had been cut, causing water to pour onto floors, ceilings, and stairwells. Several windows and display cases were smashed by thrown objects.

Police believe the damage was deliberate and are reviewing the incident as a case of mischief. They are asking anyone near 235 Frontenac Street to check doorbell or security cameras for people seen approaching the school between 10:00 p.m. on November 22 and 3:00 a.m. on November 23.

Those with information can email Cst. Ashley Knapp at aknapp@kingstonpolice.ca or call 613-549-4660 ext. 0 to leave an anonymous tip.
