Patrolling officers nab suspects

Kingston Police made multiple arrests on August 16, 2024, thanks to proactive patrol efforts. 

Early that morning, officers spotted a stolen vehicle in the city’s north end. 

The vehicle, reported stolen in Belleville, was stopped in a parking lot after a brief chase. 

The 38-year-old driver was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property over $5000.

Later that day, the same officers observed a speeding vehicle on Third Avenue. The vehicle was missing a front license plate and was stopped on Bath Road. 

A search revealed that the driver, a 65-year-old from Kingston, was driving under suspension and had an open beer can in the vehicle. 

Further investigation uncovered 55 grams of crystal meth, 2 grams of cocaine, a weigh scale, packaging materials, and Canadian currency. 

The driver was charged with possession of drugs for trafficking and other related offenses.
