Drug trafficking charges laid against 36-year-old

Kingston Police make arrest following drug investigation

Kingston Police have charged a 36-year-old individual with multiple offenses, including drug trafficking and weapons possession.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Friday, when Kingston Police Urban Foot Patrol officers were conducting routine patrols in the area of Queen Street and Wellington Street. Officers observed an individual passing a pipe to another person, prompting them to approach the pair.

Upon closer inspection, officers noticed that one of the individuals was in possession of an open pouch containing multiple dime bags of crystal methamphetamine and Canadian currency. The individual was immediately placed under arrest.

A subsequent search revealed two throwing axes concealed in a sheath in the rear waistband of the suspect.

The individual has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime, possession of weapons dangerous to the public peace, and carrying a concealed weapon. They were transported to Kingston Police Headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
