Kingston drivers, here's what you're dealing with this week

Road closures and delays aplenty for fall construction projects

Drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians in Kingston should plan for delays and road closures as the city works on multiple construction projects this fall.

On Aberdeen Street, between Johnson and Earl, drivers can expect closures for road and sewer reconstruction.

Bayridge Drive, from Princess to Taylor Kidd, will see delays as Phase 2 of the Bayridge Drive Active Transportation Upgrades gets underway. Meanwhile, work continues on Collins Bay Road, between Prince Charles/Edwin and Princess Street, for Phase 2 of the Princess and Collins Bay Active Transportation Improvements.

At the intersection of Gardiners Road and Centennial Drive/Creekford Road, delays are expected as crews work to widen the intersection, upgrade traffic signals, and add new pedestrian and cycling features.

Highway 2, between Abbey Dawn and St. Lawrence Avenue, will also see delays as construction crews work to enhance flood protection in the area.

Residents are encouraged to stay informed by visiting the City of Kingston’s Get Involved Kingston website for up-to-date project details and schedules. Patience is advised as these improvements aim to boost road safety and active transportation in the community.
