Things to do in Kingston: Fall activities, live music, and a few Halloween scares

STUFF TO DO 

Today: Older adults are invited to Wellness Wednesdays at Kingston Frontenac Public Library’s Isabel Turner Branch today from 10 a.m. to noon. Enjoy coffee, breakfast, games, crafts and social activities while connecting with others in a welcoming community setting. The free weekly program is offered in partnership with Compassionate Communities Kingston and Lionhearts.

Today: The Great Lakes Museum is inviting visitors to explore Aquaculture: Farming the Waters, a temporary exhibit running through Oct. 18 from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Through hands-on interactives and multimedia experiences, guests of all ages can discover how Canadians farm aquatic environments. The bilingual exhibit is included with museum admission.

Tomorrow: Rock fans can enjoy two tribute concerts for the price of one when We Ain’t Petty and Let’s Go! take the stage at Kingston Grand Theatre tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. The high-energy show celebrates the hits of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers and The Cars, featuring classic rock favourites and note-for-note performances.

Tomorrow: Fort Fright returns to Fort Henry this October, transforming the historic site into one of Ontario’s most thrilling haunted attractions. Featuring professional scare actors, movie-quality animatronics, immersive sets and special effects, the spooky experience runs select nights Oct. 2-11, with special Dark Night Thursdays offering scares in near-total darkness. Tickets are $25.

LOCAL SPORTS

The Kingston Frontenacs next game day is tomorrow in Barrie against the Colts.

Meanwhile, the Queens Gaels take on the Windsor Lancers at home this Saturday.

In recreational sports, plenty of open spots for a variety of sessions throughout the day
