McDonald's Tim Carter sits on the board of the Ottawa House, he says the work being carried out is a significant improvement.
He says that means more families can be close to one another at what can be a difficult time.
Carter says fundraising has gone very well too, as they looked to raise millions of the close to $23 million cost.
All you have to do to donate is visit your local McDonald's and order your favourites.
