What's Good in Kingston: Ryandale Toy Drive

Ryandale residents lead citywide Christmas toy drive to spread holiday joy.

Residents of Ryandale Transitional Housing are giving back this holiday season through the Ryandale Christmas Toy Drive, running from November 1 to December 10.

The community initiative, led by Ryandale’s Resident Advisory Committee, invites Kingstonians to donate new, unwrapped toys any day between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at three drop-off locations: 146 Clergy Street East, 494 Fieldstone Drive, and 669 Victoria Street.

Program coordinator, Mandy Wilson says that this Christmas Toy Drive was completely the residents idea and there's more to come in the future.

All donations will go to Loving Hands Kingston, which supports more than 80 local agencies to help children and families experience the joy of the holidays.

Wilson says that residents are excited about this initiative.

“I’ve gained so much from living at Ryandale — stability, support, and a sense of purpose,” said one committee member. “Now I want to give back to the community that’s given me so much.”

Wilson explains how community members can contribute.

Ryandale Transitional Housing provides safe, recovery-oriented housing for individuals moving beyond homelessness and addiction.
