Open training camp coming to SLC
Future Olympians can show off their skills at an open audition at St. Lawrence College.
RBC Training Ground, Canada's official Olympic talent search, is holding a free event this Saturday, April 12 inside the gymnasium.
Spokesman Brian Findlay says the event is open to any athlete in any discipline between the ages of 14 and 25.
Findlay says participants will be tested on their speed, strength, power and endurance in front of fifteen National Sport Organization partners.
There will also be an appearance by Olympian and Kingston native Ali ten Hove.
Findlay says she will be talking about her Olympic journey and encouraging others to follow their dreams.
The top 100 athletes from qualifiers will advance to the national final and from there, up to 35 will receive funding and resources to further develop in their sport.
