What's good in Kingston? The annual Children's Thrift Sale is on its way

It's not really Spring in Kingston until the annual Children's Thrift Sale comes to town.

It started off with a few mom's coming together over 20 years ago, but as Kyshna Willman can explain, it's only grown over time.

Willman is the Social Media director with the Children's Thrift sale committee, and she has sat at the table for over a decade.

While it's grown, the core is still the same - letting parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles have access to great items for a great price.

Willman says there are even items extending into the teen years as well.

This event brings the community together, not just to purchase items, but to also show their support for the Kingston Military Family Recreation Centre who benefits from the sale.

Every Spring and Fall, this group of volunteers sit down and plan this big event, and it is a lot of work.

That's why they are hoping that someone listening may feel the nudge not only to stop by and shop, but maybe lend a hand.

Specifically, they would love some help setting up and tearing down.

The Children's Thrift sale runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Thompson Drill Hall on base.

More information about the event, and more details on volunteering, can be found on their social media page.
