Tyffanie Morgan has spent more than two decades building a name in Kingston’s arts, entertainment and 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.
Morgan began performing in drag in 2000 after moving to Kingston to attend Queen’s University, and has since become a longtime presence in the city’s drag scene.
As a performer, host and event organizer, Morgan has helped produce and promote drag events while also supporting other performers and local arts organizations. She is the owner and operator of DragShow.ca, a national online resource for finding drag events across Canada. Morgan reminisced about the early days of drag in Kingston when it was only performed at what she refers to as gay bars.
She credits Ru Paul's Drag Race television show as helping to move drag entertainment into the mainstream, making it much more accessible to a much wider audience. Over her 26 year career as a drag artist, Morgan has found opportunities have expanded beyond her dreams
Her interests extend well beyond the stage. Morgan is also a gardener and horticulturalist, sharing gardening content through #TyffsGarden, and has worked as an event manager and online personality. She is also a co-host of the live podcast What’s the Maple Tea?!, which explores Kingston’s drag community and wider LGBTQ culture.
Morgan has also been involved in community and cultural projects, including presentations examining LGBTQ history and the contributions of queer gardeners.
Morgan was also recognized with a Creator Award at Kingston’s 2024 Mayor’s Arts Awards.
