The money is from the Ontario Trillium Grant.
A local organization that helps provide food for students in schools is receiving provincial funding.
Kingston and the Islands MPP Ted Hsu was at the Food Sharing Project on Wednesday to meet with volunteers and staff after they received an Ontario Trillium Grant of $37,100.
The funding is being used to develop a fund development strategy and tools to allow the organization to grow its fund-raising efforts.
In a news release, FSP says they will be able to meet the growing demand for healthy food at schools across Kingston, Frontenac and Lennox & Addington by attracting more donors, expanding third-party fundraising, and enhancing outreach.
FSP has been around for close to 40 years and serves 15,000 meals and snacks to schools each week.
