The Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board (ALCDSB) has released its 2025-2026 Equity Plan, building on the first plan introduced in 2020. The updated plan reflects insights, achievements, and lessons learned from past initiatives and data analysis, aiming to improve equitable access across the board’s Catholic learning communities.
The plan highlights five key commitments. These include fostering inclusive and pastoral practices, regularly reviewing data to guide changes, creating psychological safety for honest feedback, engaging with people with lived experiences often excluded, and aligning resources to support equity for students, staff, families, and community partners.
Superintendent Carey Smith-Dewey emphasized that the board recognizes more work is needed to ensure meaningful equity and inclusion. ALCDSB thanked its Equity Steering Committee and community partners for their contributions to diversity, accessibility, and inclusion initiatives.
