Coffee Day fundraiser supports local Alzheimer programs

Proceeds of coffee sales at Kingston area McDonald's goes to the local Alzheimer Society.

A cup of coffee will help support people living with dementia and their caregivers across the Kingston area.

McDonald’s Coffee Day for Alzheimer’s returns this Thursday, with participating restaurants raising money for Alzheimer Society programs and services. 

Director of Operations Mary Howlett has further details.

Donations will help the local Alzheimer Society continue providing support, education and programs for people living with dementia, as well as their families and caregivers.

The Alzheimer Society of Kingston Frontenac Lennox and Addington works with local families who are dealing with the challenges that can come with an Alzheimer’s or other form of dementia diagnosis. 

Howlett added that every donation is meaningful.

The organization provides resources and support aimed at helping people remain connected to their communities, while also giving caregivers information and assistance as they navigate the disease.

Coffee Day offers residents a simple way to contribute — by stopping at a participating McDonald’s, enjoying a coffee and supporting the fundraiser. 

Howlett thanks all who make this day so special.

The fundraiser comes as demand continues for dementia-related support and services. The Alzheimer Society says community fundraising is an important part of maintaining those programs and reaching local families.
