
Kingston inmate accused of attempting to smuggle $23K in contraband into prison
A man incarcerated at Collins Bay Institution is facing charges.
This after a joint investigation by Kingston Police and Correctional Service of Canada into the alleged smuggling of drugs into the prison.
Investigators say an inmate orchestrated a scheme to bring in drugs using a drone.
A search of an inmate's cell found 2 Buck knives, 23 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 54 grams of tobacco, 20 grams of cannabis marijuana and a cellular telephone.
They say the seized items have a value of $23,295.00.
The unnamed 30-year-old was arrested and is scheduled to have a court appearance.
