Get a charge out of proper disposal
The city of Kingston will collect your old, used batteries from November 4th-8th.
Just place your bag of batteries on the ground beside your recycling box or next to another curbside waste container...and it will be picked up for you.
Batteries contain toxic chemicals that can harm the environment and should never be put in the garbage...they're also a fire hazard.
Car, tool, and other types of large batteries will NOT be collected.
Residents can also drop off batteries anytime throughout the year at one of these City locations:
City Hall, 216 Ontario St.
INVISTA Centre, 1350 Gardiners Rd.
Kingston Area Recycling Centre (KARC), 196 Lappan’s Lane
Find a list of additional drop-off locations at www.rawmaterials.com or www.call2recycle.ca.
The battery collection is in partnership with E360 Solutions.
