Gaels look for first win of season in Hamilton

Queen's coach says expect to see a determined Marauders team on Saturday.

The Queen's Gaels football team are putting aside their season-opening loss and focusing on their first road game of the season.

The Gaels travel to Hamilton this Saturday to play the McMaster Marauders.

Quarterback Alex Vreeken says there were plenty of positive things coming out of last Saturday's 45-42 home loss to the Western Mustangs that he hopes carry into the next game.

Vreeken had 252 yards passing with a pair of touchdowns for the Gaels in a game which saw the team hold a 16-point lead late in the 4th quarter only to have the Mustangs come back and win it in the fourth overtime period.

McMaster also dropped their first game of the season last Saturday to the York Lions in Toronto.

Head coach Steve Snyder says they can expect to see a more determined Marauders team.

Vreeken says the offensive line held their own against Western's pass rushers last week and expects to see more of the same against McMaster.

The team has spent most of their time during training camp and preparing for the season in Kingston. Saturday's game will be the first time they will be away from the comfy confines of Richardson Stadium.

Snyder anticipates a much better result.
