Investigation continues
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal collision on Highway 401 westbound between Kingston and Napanee that occurred around 10 p.m. last night.
The crash involved a tractor-trailer and several other vehicles, resulting in one fatality and multiple injuries.
The westbound lanes between County Road 4 and Palace Road (County Road 5) remained closed Thursday morning as OPP Collision Reconstructionists and the Technical Collision Investigation Team work to determine the cause of the crash.
Lennox and Addington County OPP officers have been assisting stranded motorists throughout the night.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area, as the westbound lanes will remain closed until the investigation is complete.
Emergency responders urge drivers to remain patient and follow detour signs for alternate routes.
