City accepting nominations for individuals, businesses and organizations improving accessibility and inclusion across the community.
Nominations are now open for the City of Kingston's 2026 Celebrating Accessibility Awards.
The awards recognize Kingston residents, businesses and community organizations that have made positive contributions to accessibility and inclusion over the past three years.
Achievements can include improvements in customer service, public space design, education, employment, health care, transportation, information and communication, and the built environment.
Nicole Yantzi, the city's project manager for accessibility, says nominations help recognize important work happening throughout the community.
Nominees must be Kingston residents, organizations or businesses. People whose paid employment or education already includes accessibility responsibilities are eligible only if they have demonstrated an exceptional accomplishment beyond those expectations.
The city offers online and in-person nomination options, including assistance and alternate formats upon request.
Nominations can be submitted online or at City Hall at 216 Ontario St. The deadline is 4 p.m. on Oct. 9.
Recipients will be announced later this fall.
