Kingston Chamber 'optimistic' after meeting with ministers at Queen's Park

A delegation went to Queen Park for the Ontario Chamber of Commerce's Advocacy Day.

Members of the Greater Kingston Chamber of Commerce appeared to like what they heard from the politicians at Queen's Park.

They were in Toronto on Wednesday to meet with ministers, opposition leaders and more at the 2025 Ontario Chamber of Commerce Advocacy Day.

The Kingston delegation included CEO Karen Cross, Chair Kent Williams, and Past Chair Sunita Gupta.

Cross says they were able to deliver their concerns to the provincial government.

Premier Doug Ford was not at Queen's Park to meet with the delegation.

Despite that, Cross says they were able to speak to several ministers in attendance to address some of their concerns.

She says there were a couple of areas that the ministers talked about that really stood out.

Advocacy Day comes at a time when US President Donald Trump continues to make tariff threats towards other countries including Canada.

But Cross believes they will be able to weather the economic uncertainty.

She says there were some policy decisions discussed that will give Kingston's economy a boost in the future.

Kingston was one of 50 chambers of commerce from across Ontario taking part in the event.
