The city invests $3 million in a new 30,000-square-foot innovation centre to power green technology and economic growth.
RXN Hub is officially opening its doors in Kingston as Canada’s newest centre for green chemistry and clean technology innovation.
The grand opening takes place Monday from 3 to 4:15 p.m. at 945 Princess Street.
The 30,000-square-foot facility is designed to help turn green ideas into real products and businesses. It includes wet labs, production and testing spaces, and co-working offices. RXN Hub aims to build a full innovation pipeline — from lab discovery to commercial export.
The hub was made possible through a $3-million investment from the City of Kingston. Officials say the project will drive economic growth while supporting Canada’s transition to a low-carbon future.
Speakers at the event include Mayor Bryan Paterson, RXN Hub Executive Director Morgan Lehtinen and industry partners. Media will be offered interviews, tours and photo opportunities.
Officials hope RXN Hub will make Kingston a national leader in cleantech.
