The Greater Kingston Chamber of Commerce has joined forces with the Ontario Career Lab to help Grade 9 and 10 students learn about career possibilities through simple but powerful conversations.
The initiative, called Career Conversations, encourages local professionals to volunteer as Career Coaches. These mentors share their personal career journeys, offer advice, and introduce students to opportunities in their own communities.
Organizers say that even a short conversation can spark ideas, build confidence, and help teens discover career paths they might not have considered.
Career Coaches come from all types of jobs—from trades and business to healthcare and the arts. No special qualifications are needed—just a passion for helping youth and a willingness to share real-world experience.
Those interested in becoming a Career Coach can complete the Expression of Interest form online at www.careerlabs.ca.
