Open air burning is being allowed in the city of Kingston.
The City announced that the partial burn ban has been lifted as of Monday (3rd).
The partial ban had been in place since Sept. 5.
Before that, there was a total burn ban covering the entire city of Kingston including rural areas due to the hot dry conditions at the time.
The region has seen lots of rain and cooler temperatures over the last few days.
While the ban has been lifted, residents will still need a permit for open-air fires and that can be obtained from the City for free. That includes campfires, open-air appliance fires (expect those with mechanical shut-off valves), and special event fires.
Residents are also reminded to follow all conditions on the permit to ensure safe burning practices.
