Major fentanyl seizure disrupts local drug trade
The Kingston Police Drug Enforcement Unit has concluded a month-long operation, resulting in the largest seizure of fentanyl in the department's history. Over 1.3 kilograms of fentanyl, valued at approximately $198,000, was confiscated during the operation.
Three individuals, a 62-year-old man, a 50-year-old man, and a 52-year-old woman, all from Kingston, were arrested for trafficking drugs. The suspects operated from two apartment units in the Queen Mary Road and Bath Road area.
Search warrants executed with the Emergency Response Unit led to the recovery of drug-related paraphernalia and large quantities of Canadian currency. The accused face multiple charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking.
This significant seizure is expected to disrupt local drug trafficking networks and improve community safety. The Kingston Police Special Services Unit remains committed to combating illegal narcotics, encouraging residents to report any suspicious activities.
