Kingston Police seize cocaine after summer drug trafficking investigation

A resident of Kingston is one of three facing charges.

Kingston Police say three people are facing charges after a summer-long investigation into cocaine trafficking in the city.

The Street Crime Unit launched the probe earlier this year, which led to search warrants for two residences and a vehicle. On Wednesday, officers from multiple units, including the Drug Unit, Emergency Response Unit, and Canine Unit, executed the warrants.

Three suspects were arrested at a Jennifer Court home and taken into custody. Police say they seized cocaine, cash, scales, packaging materials and a vehicle believed to be used in the offences.

A 27-year-old from the Greater Toronto Area, a 25-year-old from Whitby, and a 25-year-old from Kingston are each charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime.

One suspect was released, while two remain in custody pending a show cause hearing.

Police encourage residents to report drug or weapons activity online or directly.
