Three people face multiple firearm and drug-related charges following a month-long investigation dubbed Project Cerberus.
Kingston Police say three people are facing numerous firearm and drug-related charges after a month-long investigation led to the seizure of a handgun and ammunition.
The operation, called Project Cerberus, wrapped up last Thursday with a search warrant at a home in Inverary. Officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit, Street Crime Unit and Ontario Provincial Police assisted in the raid.
Police say they seized a .45 calibre Ruger handgun and more than 50 rounds of ammunition. Three people — a 38-year-old man, a 41-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man — were arrested and charged with multiple firearm offences, including careless storage and unauthorized possession.
All three remain in custody pending bail hearings.
Police say they are seeing a rise in illegal firearms connected to drug activity. Residents are urged to report tips through the Kingston Police online portal or by phone.
