The City of Kingston is relaunching its Better Homes Kingston program to help homeowners complete energy-efficient upgrades.
Applications open May 4, 2026, and will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until funding is fully allocated.
The program offers eligible homeowners access to low-interest loans, with up to 50 per cent of funding available upfront. New rebates are also being introduced for Utilities Kingston natural gas customers, either on their own or alongside loan financing.
Soren Christianson, project manager with the city’s Climate Leadership Division, says the program aims to reduce barriers by combining financing, rebates and guidance for residents.
Participants will receive support from an energy coach to help understand options, navigate eligibility and complete upgrades.
The city says improvements can lower energy bills, increase comfort and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
