Kingston Transit is rolling out temporary service changes this month to cut down on delays and improve reliability.
Beginning Monday, Oct. 6, several routes will be shortened or rerouted to avoid construction slowdowns and reduce pressure on drivers. Additional schedule changes take effect Tuesday, Oct. 14.
“We’re aware of the challenges passengers have been facing and understand their frustration,” said Ian Semple, commissioner of transportation and infrastructure services. “These temporary changes will help make travel more reliable as we work toward restoring full service.”
The adjustments include shorter end-of-route loops, relocating stops to less congested roads, and reducing midday express service from every 15 minutes to every 20 minutes. Some local routes will also shift to hourly service.
Kingston Transit says staff are working to rebuild capacity and will restore routes as resources allow. Riders can plan trips and track buses in real time through the Transit App.
