Kingston will be collecting batteries next week

Batteries such as AA, AAA, C, D, and 9-volt will be collected.

The City of Kingston is holding a battery collection week.

From April 28 to May 2, residents are being encouraged to put their single-use household batteries to the curb for collection free of charge.

The batteries are to be placed in a clear, sealed plastic bag and put next to the recycling bin or curbside waste container on collection day.

Residents can also take their used batteries to City Hall, INVISTA Centre on Gardiners Road, and the Kingston Area Recycling Centre on Lappen's Lane.

Batteries such as AA, AAA, C, D, and 9-volt will be collected but larger battery types like ones for cars and tools will not be accepted.

Those batteries are to be taken to the City’s Household Hazardous Waste Depot on Lappen's Lane.
