Olivia and Noah hold the top spots again as new data reveals the province’s favourite baby names.
Olivia and Noah continue to lead the list of Ontario’s most popular baby names in 2024, according to new provincial data released Dec. 16.
Olivia ranked as the top girl’s name for the 16th straight year, while Noah claimed first place for boys for the sixth year in a row.
The rest of the top 10 girls’ names were Charlotte, Sophia, Amelia, Emma, Ava, Maya, Sofia, Mia and Isla. For boys, the most popular names after Noah were Liam, Theodore, Oliver, Jack, Henry, Benjamin, Lucas, Muhammad and Leo.
While popular names continue to dominate the rankings, families are encouraged to choose names that feel right for them, whether they are well-known favourites or something more unique, like Ainsley or Edward!
