One man was killed, another charged with his murder
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Ontario Fire Marshal are broadening their search for video evidence related to a tragic fire in Napanee. The fire, which occurred on August 3, claimed the life of a 67-year-old resident. A 31-year-old man from Picton has been charged with first-degree murder and arson in connection with the incident.
Investigators are now asking residents in Napanee to review and submit any video footage from August 3, specifically between 9:30 am and 10:30 am, and 10 pm and midnight. This request covers a larger area than previously announced, now including the region bordered by Dundas Street West to Water Street West, and Centre Street to Richard Street.
Previously, the OPP had requested videos from the area bordered by Thomas, East, Water, and Richard Streets, between 6:30 pm and 8 pm on the same day. They are seeking any and all video footage that may assist in their investigation.
