UPDATE: Missing Napanee woman located alive and well

The 71-year-old was last seen Monday morning on Westplain Rd.

UPDATE 2: A 71-year-old woman missing since Monday has been found alive in a wooded area near her Westplain Road home in Greater Napanee.

She was reported missing the morning of Monday, August 4, 2025, prompting a major search effort by the Lennox and Addington OPP. Officers were joined by the OPP Emergency Response Team, three Canine Units, a helicopter from OPP Aviation Services, ATV units, and trained volunteers from OSARVA, Rideau Search and Rescue, and Ottawa Volunteer Search and Rescue.

The search stretched over several days and covered rugged terrain. Finally, on Thursday afternoon, August 7, members of the Emergency Response Team, a Canine Unit, and OSARVA volunteers located the woman alive in the forest.

She was in stable condition and was turned over to L&A County Paramedics for care.

UPDATE Thursday, August 7: The Lennox and Addington OPP report the missing 71-year-old woman last seen on Monday morning has been located alive. The OPP shared she's in the care of EMS.

The OPP say Heather was last spotted around 9:30 a.m. on Monday, August 4, 2025, on Westplain Road in Napanee. She is described as 5-foot-8 with short grey-brown hair, and was wearing a red and white shirt with black pants.

The OPP provided an update Tuesday morning that Aviation Services will be in the area along with East Region Emergency Response Team members.
