Over $230K raised during Smile Cookie campaign in Kingston

Money raised will go to the Child and Youth Mental Health services at KHSC.

There were plenty of smiles being spread around at Kingston Health Sciences Centre.

Representatives from the hospital's Mental Health and Addiction Care, University Hospitals Kingston Foundation, and the Tim Horton's stores in Kingston were on hand Wednesday to announce the total money raised from this year's Smile Cookie campaign.

Local store owner Sherri Agnew had the pleasure of reading out the final numbers.

The $230,108 raised will be going towards Child and Youth Mental Health services at KHSC.

The program's director Nicholas Axas says it is incredible of the support they have received from Agnew and her group as well as the community.

This is the third year in a row that the Child and Youth Mental Health program were the beneficiaries of the Smile Cookie campaign.

Axas explains what they plan to do with the money.

Axas says the AI assisted triage and therapy will allow for a better diagnosis and therefore better treatment.

In a news release from UHKF, the amount raised sets a new record which is slightly more than the $230,085 raised during the 2023 Smile Cookie campaign.

They say the campaign has raised over $1.6 Million over the last two decades.
